WASHINGTON — Executives from McKee Foods Corp., Pan-O-Gold Baking Co., Campbell Soup Co. and Amoroso Baking are among the invited speakers for the American Bakers Association’s Executive Leadership and Development Committee (E.D.L.C.) Public Policy Forum set for Oct. 2-4 at the Washington Court hotel.

The event coincides with the A.B.A. and Allied Trades of the Baking Industry joint board meeting, which will take place Oct. 1-2 at the Washington Court hotel.

The E.D.L.C. morning program session on Oct. 3 will kick off with welcoming remarks from Connie Vaughan, co-chair of the E.L.D.C. and government relations manager at McKee Foods Corp., and a special message from Robin Alton, chairman of the A.B.A. Kelly Johnston, vice-president of government affairs at Campbell Soup Co., then will present “Lobbying techniques 101.”

Senator Pat Roberts of Kansas has been invited to deliver the keynote speech during lunch on Oct. 3.

As part of the afternoon program session, Len Amoroso, president of Amoroso Baking Co., has been invited to speak as part of the baking industry leadership series. An update on the Grain Foods Foundation will follow Mr. Amoroso’s presentation. Later in the afternoon, Steve McClatchy, founder and president of Alleer Training & Consulting, will discuss building trust and resolving conflict as part of the professional development series.

On Oct. 4, highlights include a 2012 election update provided by Bernadette Budde of Bipac and a political involvement and grassroots update by Kelly Knowles, senior director of political affairs at the A.B.A. Lynn Dornblaser, director of CPG Trend Insight at Mintel, has been invited to update attendees on baking industry trends.
