Annual global snack sales are set to increase 7% annually, and much of that growth is expected in emerging markets in the Asia-Pacific region, according to the Bakery and Snacks — Market Assessment 2012 report, released by PMMI in August. Pack Expo International 2012, which will be held Oct. 28-31 at McCormick Place, Chicago, IL, is designed to help brand owners to expand their market knowledge to capitalize on this growth, increase output and gain a competitive edge.
The show’s customer-centric approach assists industry professionals in finding the solutions they need. The Baking-Snack Break lounge, endorsed by the Snack Food Association, provides a place for attendees and exhibitors to meet and discuss trends and issues in the marketplace. A special reception, open to all interested industry professionals, will take place from 4 to 5:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 29, in the Baking-Snack Break Lounge.
The Conference at Pack Expo will provide attendees valuable insights into topics such as food safety regulations and compliance, sustainability measures and future trends. Presenters include representatives from industry leading brands including ConAgra Foods, Kraft Foods and General Mills.
Pack Expo also offers a number of other added-value features. The Brand Zone, for example, will help brands break out of the so-called packaging box, with innovative containers and materials that can help create a competitive edge at point of sale. Within The Brand Zone, attendees can explore award-winning package designs at The Showcase of Packaging Innovations and learn about the latest consumer drivers from Mintel experts.
The Processing Zone will spotlight the latest processing technologies for mixing, cooking and handling baking ingredients and products. Additionally, processing equipment will be featured by exhibitors throughout the entire show floor.
