KITCHENER, ONT. — Peter Luik has been named president of Dare Foods Ltd., effective Oct. 1. He will be the sixth president in Dare’s 120-year history.

Mr. Luik has more than 23 years of professional experience in food brands, and most recently he was president and chief executive officer of Heinz Canada.

“With his solid track record of delivering growth and profitability, extensive knowledge and industry experience, we are pleased to welcome Peter to Dare to lead the company through a new and exciting growth plan,” said William (Bill) Farrell, chairman of the board.

Mr. Luik received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from York University. He is a member of the board of directors and acts as a sub-committee chair for two industry associations, Food and Consumer Products of Canada and Food Processors of Canada.

Dare Foods is a Canadian, family-owned company that makes cookies, candies, fruit snacks, crackers and bread. The company has six plants and 1,139 employees in North America.
