ST. PAUL, MINN. — CHS Inc. has acquired the Tomen Grain facility in Pekin, Ill., from Tomen Grain Co., a majority-owned subsidiary of Toyota Tsusho America, Inc (TAI). The Pekin facility provides truck to barge loading and storage capacity of more than 150,000 bus.

“CHS is actively expanding its grain origination base along key, inland river markets,” said Rick Dusek, vice-president of grain marketing-North America at CHS. “The Tomen grain handling and barge loading facility on the Illinois river provides additional origination to help supply our Myrtle Grove, La., grain export terminal to meet growing customer demand.”

Mr. Dusek said CHS will buy corn and soybeans from local grain elevators and farmers as well as provide byproduct elevation services.
