JOPLIN, MO. — Scott Sanders, president of Creative Food Consultants, a provider of product development, quality assurance and food safety expertise, died Jan. 11. He was 61.
Prior to being named president of Creative Food Consultants in 2010, Mr. Sanders was in charge of corporate quality assurance and consumer safety at Safeway for 12 years. In that post he was responsible for the quality assurance and food safety programs at U.S. commercial high speed bakeries, as well as for product development of cookies and crackers. He also oversaw internal food safety/quality audits at beverage, dairy, meat, bakery and grocery product manufacturing operations.
He was a member of the American Society of Baking’s Food Technical Regulatory Affairs Committee, AIB Food Safety Advisory Committee, and the AACC Milling and Baking Division.
Survivors include his wife, Dawn; a son, David (Tarah); a daughter, Jessica Bradley; three grandchildren; two brothers; and a sister.
