SALEM, ORE. — Kettle Brand is adding two flavors to its line of kettle-cooked potato chips.
The maple bacon variety combines flavors of smoky bacon, sweet maple syrup and a subtle touch of chili pepper.
The sweet and salty flavor pairs sea salt with cane sugar.
Both varieties have been in development for more than nine months and join a lineup that includes buffalo bleu cheese, honey Dijon and spicy Thai.
“Over the past 30 years, we’ve closely tracked trends from around the world, tested thousands of product prototypes and even conducted a national survey on Americans’ taste preferences,” said Carolyn Ottenheimer, chief flavor architect for Kettle Brand.
The products will be available in grocery stores nationwide beginning this summer for a suggested retail price of $2.69 for 5-oz bags and $3.49 for 8.5-oz bags.
