AFTON, MN — Masa flour for making naturally colored purple corn chips and table tortillas will be the result of a partnership agreement announced May 31 by Suntava, Inc., Afton, MN, and Minsa Corp. of Muleshoe, TX, and Red Oak, IA.

Working together, the two companies will produce masa for tortilla and snack companies that do not cook their own corn. Soon to be available worldwide, the new masa flour will be the result of Minsa’s pioneering masa-processing technology applied to Suntava’s hybrid purple corn, an abundant source of anthocyanins, antioxidants and natural color.

The hybrid purple corn being used is domestically grown, non-GMO and gluten-free. Suntava announced earlier that its corn will soon be available as certified organic.
