NORWICH, VT. — King Arthur Flour Co. has added to its line of baking mixes with the introduction of King Arthur Flour’s Gluten-Free All-Purpose Baking Mix. The new mix may be used in a variety of gluten-free recipes, from pancakes and biscuits to roll-out sugar cookies and chocolate cupcakes, the company said.

“We really want to make high-quality gluten-free baking available to bakers at all levels,” said Mark Tecca, director of new business development and manufacturing. “With this mix, they can follow our recipes or get creative on their own. We also think they deserve better nutrition, so this mix is made with whole grain rice flour and fortified with iron and calcium. And our tests show consumers love the way it tastes.”

Like the company’s entire line of gluten-free baking mixes, the new King Arthur Gluten-Free All-Purpose Baking Mix is certified gluten-free by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization and is manufactured in a facility that does not process the top eight food allergens. The mix includes non-aluminum baking powder; is a good source of fiber, calcium, and iron; and includes 20 grams of whole grain brown rice flour per serving.

King Arthur Flour’s Gluten-Free All-Purpose Baking Mix is available through supermarkets nationwide as well as through the company’s Baker’s Catalogue and on-line at www.kingarthurflour.com. The 24-oz box retails for around $6.95.
