CHELSEA, MASS. – Shawn Keavy has been named manager of product research and development for Muffin Town, a division of J.S.B. Industries.

Mr. Keavy has 32 years of experience in baking operations and management. His background includes 20 years at My Bread Baking in New Bedford, Mass., first as a baker and later as an assistant production manager; 5 years at Cumberland Farms as baking plant manager; and six years at Superior Bakery in North Grosvenor Dale, Conn., as director of bakery operations.

The company said Mr. Keavy’s background will help expand selections in Muffin Town’s brand categories, helping “consumers looking for increased value, convenience and healthier, high quality baked goods.”

J.S.B. produces frozen bakery products under the Muffin Town, Smart Choice, Aesps Bagels, Madeline’s Gourmet Cookie Dough and SunWise brands. Additionally, J.S.B. is a private label manufacturer for food service and retail customers. Its two Massachusetts plants, located in Chelsea and Lawrence, are kosher and peanut free. Jack Anderson, president and chief executive officer, established the company in 1978.
