Wasa says seven of its products have passed the independent verification and testing process.


BANNOCKBURN, ILL. — Wasa, the largest crispbread baker in the world, said seven of its crispbread products have passed the independent verification and testing process allowing them to bear the Non-GMO Project Verified seal. The seal assures shoppers that best practices have been followed to avoid the inclusion of bioengineered organisms, and the product is in compliance with rigorous standards.

Products with the Non-GMO Project Verified seal include Wasa’s light rye, multigrain, Heart, flax seed, whole grain, fiber and sourdough rye varieties.

“At Wasa, our No. 1 priority is providing healthy and wholesome snack options for everyday use,” said Greg Arseneau, senior associate brand manager. “Consumers are looking for a more nutritional snack option and the Non-GMO Project verification solidifies our claim to of using the best quality ingredients in our products.”

Wasa said the key ingredient in most of its crispbreads is whole grain flour, which the company said provides “great flavor and nutrition.”
