CHANNAHON, ILL. — IOI Loders Croklaan and Unilever will seek to drive efficiencies, increase capacity and concentrate on the quality of specialty oils and fats as well as commodity oils under a global partnership announced by the two companies Oct. 9. As part of the partnership, the two companies will share responsibility to accelerate sustainable market transformation for palm oil.

IOI Loders Croklaan, which has a North American office in Channahon, produces and supplies oils and fats. Unilever, based in Surrey, United Kingdom, supplies food, home and personal care products with sales in more than 190 countries.

“As a responsible partner in building a sustainable and transparent palm oil supply chain, we are committed to our responsible operating principles, sustainable sourcing policy and time bound plan to achieve milestones and as further validation of our commitments,” said Julian Veitch, chief executive officer of IOI Loders Croklaan. “The next key milestone is our ability to supply 100% traceable palm oil worldwide by the end of 2014.”
