LEIRIA, PORTUGAL – Allma has launched Chlorella Crunches, a blend of rice cereals and Chlorella vulgaris powder that works as a snack or ingredient. Chlorella is a vegetable source of protein, including all nine of the essential amino acids. It contains omega-3 fatty acids, omega-6 fatty acids, complex carbohydrates, phytonutrients, vitamins and minerals.

Chlorella Crunches are available in a range of sizes, shapes and flavors and with varying concentrations of Chlorella. They may be eaten alone or included in a salty snack mix. They may be used as inclusions in such applications as yogurt, breakfast cereal, snack bars, soups and salads.

“They work equally well in sweet and savory products, and thanks to Chlorella’s nutritional profile, provide the opportunity to boost the health credentials of products in a wide range of categories,” said Sofia Mendonca, business development manager of Allma, which is based in Portugal.
