BATTLE CREEK, MICH. – Stephanie Burns, Ph.D., retired chairman and chief executive officer of the Dow Corning Corp., and La June Montgomery Tabon, president and c.e.o. of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, have been elected to the board of directors at the Kellogg Co. Sterling Speirn, former president and c.e.o. of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, is stepping down as a board member of the Kellogg Co.
“Stephanie and La June bring a wealth of experience and leadership from both the business and the philanthropic sectors,” said Jim Jenness, chairman of the board. “We are proud to welcome these forward-thinking innovators to our board.”
Dr. Burns played a role in Dow Corning’s investments in emerging markets, including China, India, Russia, Turkey and Vietnam. She served as director of women’s health at Dow Corning and formerly was chairman of the American Chemical Council. Dr. Burns served on the President’s Export Council for President Obama.
Ms. Montgomery Tabon has served on the W.K. Kellogg Foundation for 26 years. As president and c.e.o., she oversees the foundation’s work, which includes striving to make sure children are educated and healthy and that families are secure. Mr. Montgomery Tabon has served as president of the board at the Western Michigan University Foundation.
