DECATUR, ILL. — Archer Daniels Midland Co. said it intends to exclusively offer Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (R.S.P.O.) certified sustainable palm oil to North American customers beginning in 2015. The company also is working with Wilmar International Ltd. to provide fully traceable, sustainable palm oil that meets the R.S.P.O. Mass Balance standards.

“ADM and Wilmar share a commitment to environmental stewardship and community preservation,” said Ray Bradbury, vice-president of ADM’s North American Oils group. “ADM supports Wilmar’s recent, ‘No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation’ policy, which is designed to advance industry transformation to help protect people and the environment. This enables us to offer customers a palm oil product that is fully traceable and sourced from crops that are responsibly grown and harvested.”

ADM has palm distribution and processing plants in Lincoln, Neb.; Quincy, Ill.; Valdosta, Ga.; and New Orleans that currently offer certified sustainable palm oil.
