MISSION, KAS. — Bill Mackin, former president of MaMa Rosa’s L.L.C., has been named chief executive officer of Packaging Products Corp., a 40-year-old custom, flexible packaging maker. Mr. Mackin brings 25 years of executive-level experience to the position.
Before joining Packaging Products, Mr. Mackin was managing executive, president and c.e.o. of several private equity-owned firms, where he was responsible for the operating results of several acquisitions and divestitures in the consumer packaged goods sector.
During that time, he was president of MaMa Rosa’s L.L.C., the largest branded, refrigerated pizza company in the country, where he doubled sales from $40 million to $80 million in four years.
“Bill was an exceptional leader at MaMa Rosa’s, and we are fortunate to have him leading the PPC team,” said John T. Stout Jr., chairman of Plaza Belmont Management Group, the majority owner of MaMa Rosa’s from 2006 to 2011. Plaza Belmont also is an investor/owner of PPC. “Bill is decisive, results driven, competitive and disciplined. He is a fact-based leader who develops practical and innovative solutions, focuses on details and follows through to ensure execution and desired results.”
Mr. Mackin will help fill a leadership void at Packaging Products that was left following the death of Jack Leslie Joslin, president of Packaging Products, in March. Mr. Joslin spent his life building Packaging Products Corp., a flexographic printing company in Mission, Kas., and Rome, Ga. He sold the company in 2006 to Plaza Belmont Fund II, but continued on as president until his death.
