CHICAGO — Eating a bowl of instant oatmeal for breakfast was more satiating and helped to manage hunger better than the same amount of calories from a ready-to-eat, oat-based cereal, according to a study published on-line May 28 in Nutrition Journal.
The Quaker Oats Center of Excellence, PepsiCo R.&D. Nutrition funded the study. It involved researchers from PepsiCo R.&D. Nutrition and the Pennington Biomedical Research Center at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La.
