WASHINGTON — A view of the pasta business from the perspective of the leading private label industry player will kick off the 2015 annual meeting of the National Pasta Association.

Pat Regan, vice-president and general manager of private brands – pasta, at ConAgra Foods, Inc., will kick off the annual meeting general program March 9 with a welcome and “State of the Industry Report.” Mr. Regan is chairman of the N.P.A. The meeting will be held March 8-10 at the Wigwam Resort in Phoenix.

Other presentations March 9 include a “Technical Affairs Committee Report,” by Mike Hoar, New World Pasta Co. (Mr. Hoar is chairman of the technical affairs committee): “BNSF Agriculture Update,” John Miller, vice-president of agricultural products, BNSF Railway; “Durum Report,” Scott Syslo, vice-president, grain procurement, Ardent Mills; “Sustainable Wheat Production: What does it Mean? How is it Measured?” George Frisvole, Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics, University of Arizona—Tucson; and “Durum Breeding and Genetics,” Elias M. Elias, University Distinguished Professor, Department of Plant Sciences, University of North Dakota.

The general session March 10 will feature a presentation on a pasta promotion campaign – “Pasta Fits! Social Media Campaign Update.” Presenting will be Joan Cear, vice-president, Kellen Communications.

Other presenters will include Gary Kushner, Hogan Lovells, who will discuss “New Congress, Lame Duck Administration: What to Expect,” and Mark Vermylen and Joe Anzalone, who will moderate an equipment roundtable.
