KANSAS CITY — Deborah J. Bollman of St. Joseph, a longtime marketing associate at the Kansas City Board of Trade, died Jan. 19 at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City. She was 42.

A native of St. Joseph, Mo., Ms. Bollman was assistant vice-president of marketing for 13 years at the Kansas City Board of Trade. She spent a total of 16 years at the K.C.B.T.

Within the grain-based foods industry, Ms. Bollman was well known as the Board of Trade’s representative for 10 years on the annual Wheat Quality Council Hard Winter Wheat Tour.

Ms. Bollman was a 1996 graduate of the University of Missouri, Columbia, with a bachelor’s degree in international studies.

In addition to her work at the Board of Trade, Ms. Bollman was active in the Kansas City community, volunteering at the Rose Brooks Center, the International Visitors Council of Greater Kansas City, the Coro Kansas City Summer Internship in Public Affairs program and the Young Survivors Coalition.

She also was involved with the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in downtown Kansas City and was a life-long member of the Cosby Zion United Methodist Church northeast of St. Joseph.

Survivors include her parents, Gene and Joyce Bollman of St. Joseph; and a sister, Dianne of Liberty, Mo.

A healing farewell will be conducted Jan. 23 at 1:30 p.m. at Cosby Zion United Methodist Church, 21009 County Road 276, Cosby, Mo.; interment, Cosby Zion Cemetery.  The family will gather with friends Jan. 22 from 6 until 8 p.m., Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, 5005 Frederick Ave., St. Joseph.
