The theme of next year’s conference is “Growth through innovation,” a topic that Mr. Toler, along with Kat Cole, group president of Focus Brands and former president of Cinnabon, will discuss during their presentations.

“No other industry meeting has as many baker and allied attendees, as many opportunities to network with your partners, or as many technical sessions that provide industry best practices you can put to work as soon as you get home,” according to the American Society of Baking, which sponsors the conference.

In addition to Mr. Toler and Ms. Cole, the conference will feature technical sessions that will focus on innovations in ingredients that are being driven by legislation and the move to clean label and away from partially hydrogenated oils (phos). There also will be follow-up discussion to this year’s meeting’s panel on bioengineered ingredients, including a discussion of the current state of traditional and bioengineered wheat breeding programs.
