ST. PAUL, MINN. — CHS Inc. has sold its Solgen isoflavone brand and related business to Tradichem S.L., Madrid, Spain. The transaction includes all CHS isoflavone inventory, the Solgen brand name and customer list, technology related to the product and the Solgen European Drug Master File.
“CHS recently ceased production of food-grade soy ingredients at its Ashdod, Israel, plant and will no longer manufacture isoflavones,” said Tom Malecha, vice-president of processing and food ingredients at CHS. “In addition to acquiring the Solgen inventory and related business assets, Tradichem will also assume all liabilities related to the former CHS isoflavone manufacturing, supply and distribution.”
Jose Angel Marañón, Ph.D., Tradichem executive director and director of research and development, said that Tradichem has been the CHS distributor of Solgen products for many years, making it a good fit within Tradichem’s portfolio.
“We are proud to own the Solgen technology, inventory and brand and look forward to continuing to represent this outstanding product within our business,” Dr. Marañón said.
Founded in 1993, Tradichem is involved in the pharmaceutical, chemical and food businesses. The company holds exclusive distribution agreements with global pharmaceutical and nutraceutical companies based in Israel, Germany, Switzerland and the United States.
