NAPLES, FLA. — A survey of millers at division meetings of the North American Millers’ Association meeting here today forecast 2015 soft red winter wheat production down 16% from 2014 but soft white winter wheat production up 6%.
Soft wheat millers forecast U.S. 2015 soft red winter wheat production at 380,869,000 bus, down 16% from 455,297,000 bus in 2014 and compared with five-year average production of 421,690,800 bus. If realized, 2015 production would be the lowest since 219,209,000 bus in 2010. Outturn was forecast down in all principal regions with Central states and Midwest each down 18%, mid-Atlantic down 3%, Southeast down 8% and Delta/Southwest down 23%.
