FITCHBURG, WIS. — Glanbia Nutritionals has added two plant protein blends, barGain 700EF and barGain 701EF, to its barGain portfolio. Both blends are 80% protein and may be used in extruded bars, baked bars and clusters. BarGain 700EF is a blend of pea, chia and flaxseed, and barGain 701EF contains a mix of pea protein, identity-preserved (I.P.) soy and flax seed.
The blends are vegan, non-bioengineered/non-G.M.O. and gluten-free. EasyFlav, Glanbia’s proprietary flavor enhancement technology, neutralizes the off-notes associated with plant proteins, according to the company.
“As a result of Glanbia Nutritionals’ expertise in the production of protein and grain ingredients, the new barGain blends will enable manufacturers to deliver appealing, vegan, protein-fortified products to tap into the fast-growing demand for vegan-sourced food,” said Marilyn Stieve, business development manager – bars, for Fitchburg-based Glanbia Nutritionals.
