Grain Craft's team members bring decades of quality assurance, and perations experience.

CHATTANOOGA, TENN. — Reuben McLean has been named director of wheat quality and food safety at Grain Craft and will be part of the newly established customer quality team also announced by the company. Other team members, who also received promotions, include Tim Aschbrenner as the new director of flour quality, and Charlie Nave, the new director of baking quality. Mr. McLean most recently was manager of quality and audit compliance. He joined Pendleton Flour Mills 19 years ago in quality assurance at the company’s Blackfoot, Idaho mill. He also spent four years working at the University of Idaho in the wheat breeding program. He has a bachelor’s of science degree in crop science from Utah State University and a master’s in plant science from the University of Idaho.

Mr. Aschbrenner, who began his career at Cereal Food Processors, most recently was director of quality assurance at the company’s Wichita, Kas., mill. He has a bachelor’s degree in milling science and management from Kansas State University. Mr. Nave brings more than 38 years of experience in the baking industry to his new role. Before joining Milner Milling in 2004 as director of technical services, he held operations positions with Campbell Taggart, Meyers Bakery and Sara Lee Foodservice.

Commenting on the creation of the customer quality team, Grain Craft said the company is bringing together “individual core strengths and skills pertaining to wheat quality, flour quality and baking quality resulting in a “farm to fork”/”wheat to bread” system.”
