KANSAS CITY — Intralox, L.L.C. has won the 2016 Innovation Award from the American Society of Baking for its DirectDrive system. The patented system advances spiral conveyance by eliminating issues related to product migration, belt tensioning and sanitation, according to Intralox.

The A.S.B. Innovation Awards program celebrates industry leaders and companies in the grain-based foods industry for developing and implementing products, equipment design and ingredient technology advancements. Submissions were sought for the three categories of operational excellence, eco design and sustainable technologies, and health, wellness and nutrition. New Orleans-based Intralox entered under the operational excellence category. Intralox and the DirectDrive system will be featured during MarketPlace 2016, which is held in conjunction with BakingTech, A.S.B.’s annual technical conference scheduled for Feb. 28 to March 1 in Chicago.
