HOUSTON — Trends affecting the world of in-store baking will be examined during the International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association (I.D.D.B.A.)’s 52nd annual Dairy-Deli-Bake Seminar and Expo, taking place June 5-7 in Houston at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
The exposition, assembled to assist retail buyers and merchandisers, features manufacturers of dairy, deli, bakery, cheese and food service products, services and equipment. This year’s speakers include I.D.D.B.A. president Mike Eardley and celebrity chefs Lidia Bastianich and Anthony Bourdain.
There will be plenty of networking opportunities at the three-day event. I.D.D.B.A. expects approximately 9,000 attendees and 1,900 booths focused on the fresh-food industry. The Show and Sell Workshop at the expo will feature merchandising concept demonstrations and provide tactical sessions for deli and bakery owners.
I.D.D.B.A.’s 21st annual cake decorating challenge will take place over the three days of the exposition. The first day’s challenge is creating enough production cakes to fill an 8-ft. bakery case, the second day is baking the best wedding cake, and the third is a three-cake challenge. Contestants receive an all-expense paid trip to Houston and other prizes.
Pre-registration for Dairy-Deli-Bake is open through May 6. For more information about the seminar and expo, visit www.iddba.org.
