KANSAS CITY — G. Michael Gude has been named publisher of Milling & Baking News. Mr. Gude is a 35-year-veteran of Sosland Publishing Co., and currently serves as director of publishing for Food Business News, Baking & Snack and Culinology.
Mr. Gude joined Sosland Publishing in 1982 as project coordinator for the China Encounter, the first international grain, milling and baking symposium held in the People’s Republic of China. Following the seminar, Mr. Gude assumed the duties of sales manager for Milling & Baking News. In 1983, he was named general manager of Baking Equipment, a magazine covering manufacturing procedures and plant engineering that was offered as a quarterly supplement to Milling & Baking News. The supplement later was launched as a separate publication – what has become the highly successful Baking & Snack magazine.
Mr. Gude was named director of sales for Milling & Baking News in 1986, and in 1992 he was promoted to associate publisher of the magazine, a position he has held for the past 24 years.

Prior to joining Sosland Publishing, Mr. Gude was publisher and founder of Where Magazine - Kansas City.
He is a past president of both the Allied Trades of the Baking Industry and the Midwest Allied Trades of the Baking Industry, and past chairman of the Baking Equipment Manufacturers Association. Mr. Gude is treasurer of the Grain Foods Foundation, and is on several industry boards, including the Biscuit & Cracker Manufacturers’ Association’s allied board and the Missouri Association of Publishers’ board of directors. He also is a member of the American Society of Baking and AACC International.
Mr. Gude received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri.
