The average price paid for white pan bread decreased 0.9c per lb in November, while the national average price of family flour in November was down 1.5c from October.

WASHINGTON — The average price paid for white pan bread decreased 0.9c per lb in November, its second straight month of declines, while the price of whole wheat bread increased 5c in the month, according to the latest data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor.

The national average retail price of white pan bread was 140.9c, down 0.9c per lb from October and down 1.1c from November 2014. On a month-to-month basis, the average price for white pan bread in November decreased in three regions — down 4c in the Midwest, down 2.7c in the West and down 0.4c in the South — and increased in one region — up 2.9c in the Northeast.

At 202.8c per lb, the national average price for whole wheat bread was up 5c per lb from October and up 10.7c per lb from November 2014.

The national average price of family flour in November was 49.6c per lb, down 1.5c from October and down 1.9c from November 2014.

The national average price for spaghetti and macaroni in November was 126.6c per lb, down 3.1c from October but up 2.1c from November 2014. Chocolate chip cookies were 341.3c per lb, up 2.2c from October but down 22.8c from November 2014. The national average price of white long-grain rice was 73.2c per lb, up 4.2c from October and up 1.5c from November 2014.
