CHICAGO — Dan Inman has been named director of quality and R.&D. at The Long Co. He will succeed Al Bachman, who is retiring July 1.
Mr. Inman has 35 years of experience in the food industry, with more than 25 of those years in the bakery and grain-based foods industry. He began his career with the Quaker Oats Co., where he held positions in quality assurance and production supervision. He later joined the Ph. Orth Co. as quality assurance manager.
Mr. Inman has held numerous positions over his career with responsibilities in quality assurance, research and development, production, engineering and sanitation for such companies as Pizza Hut Inc., BCW Food Products, Pizza Blends Inc., TNT Crust (a division of Tyson Foods' Ralcorp Frozen Bakery Products and, most recently, J. Rettenmaier USA LP.
He received a bachelor’s degree in food science from Purdue University.
