LISLE, ILL. — Armour-Eckrich Meats, L.L.C. on June 16 said it voluntarily is recalling Armour Snackmakers Keebler Animal Crackers because they contain animal cracker cookies with undeclared peanut residue.

Consumers with severe peanut allergies should avoid the recalled products. The Food and Drug Administration has said the amount of peanut exposure from the flour is low and not expected to cause adverse health effects in the majority of peanut allergic consumers. Armour-Eckrich Meats had received no reports of related illness as of June 16.

The recall covers items with a U.P.C. code of 2781500240, a product size of 2.7 oz and sell by dates of July 29 through Aug. 30.

A trace presence of peanuts has led to other food product recalls this month, including from such companies as Kellogg Co., Mars Chocolate North America and Frito-Lay North America.
