NEW YORK — Bantam Bagels, bite-sized bagel balls stuffed with cream cheese inside, will have more than 8,000 new points of distribution, including Starbucks and retail outlets such as Fred Meyer and Kroger.

After they were tested in select Starbucks locations, Bantam Bagels on Sept. 6 became available in more than 7,000 company-operated Starbucks across the United States.

Starting in October, frozen boxes of Bantam Bagels will be found in more than 600 grocery stores. Kroger stores in Ohio and Michigan will carry the items as will QFC and Fred Meyer stores in the Pacific Northwest; Safeway stores in California, the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii; and a number of independent grocery stores in New York, Connecticut and New England.

A new web site that includes a flat rate shipping model allows customers to have the bagels shipped to their home.

Nick and Elyse Oleshak originally opened Bantam Bagels in a retail space in Manhattan’s West Village in New York. They also appeared on the TV show “Shark Tank.”
