TORONTO — Dimpflmeier Bakery Ltd., a Toronto-based baking company that offers a variety of bread products, has introduced Carb Smart bread under its Healthy Living brand. The new bread contains 34 grams of protein, 8 grams of fiber and 2 grams of carbohydrates per 100-gram serving.

“We really feel that this product is the bread that the world has been waiting for,” said Torsten Galle, general manager of Dimpflmeier. “So many people have given up the bread they love in order to lose weight. Now we finally have a product that addresses this very large group of consumers. Finally, they can eat bread again.”

Founded in 1956 by German baker Alfons Dimpflmeier, Dimpflmeier Bakery offers rye bread, grain bread, organic bread and whole wheat bread, as well as pastries and seasonal items, including cookies.
