Kendall Packaging facility expansion
Kendall Packaging will invest $9 million in an expansion that will double the size of its plant in Pittsburg.

PITTSBURG, KAS. — Kendall Packaging will invest $9 million in an expansion that will double the size of its plant in Pittsburg. The expansion will add 59,000 square feet as well as $6 million worth of equipment.

Based in Mequon, Wis., Kendall Packaging supplies private label companies and specializes in products in the baked foods, cheese, confectionary, dry foods, frozen foods, meats, pasta, personal care, pet food and snack food markets.

Kendall Packaging will finance the expansion through agreements with the City of Pittsburg to use funds from a community development block grant and an industrial revenue bond. The partnership features savings through temporary property and sales tax exemptions.

“This is our second expansion in three years,” said Eric Erickson III, president and chief executive officer of Kendall Packaging. “Between the Pittsburg plant and our facility in Jefferson, Wis., we have invested approximately $17 million in improvements.”
