BERINGEN, SWITZERLAND — Bosch Packaging Technology was honored by the German Packaging Institute with the German Packaging Award 2016 for its prototype Sigpack Vertical Platform for Flat Pouches (VPF). The company beat out 212 other entries from nine countries.

The Sigpack VPF features scalable design with options to expand production from two to twelve lines and to quickly swap bag sizes if needed. Each line has its own dosing chamber and its own stock of product, allowing for multiple products to be filled on the same machine.

Frank Bühler, product manager of Bosch, and Maik Lamprecht, project manager for platform development, accepted the German Packaging award at the FachPack trade show in Nuremberg.

“We are really pleased that our machine has managed to win the Packaging award as early as the prototype stage,” Mr. Bühler said. “We are already looking forward to working with a wide range of manufacturers from the pharma and food sectors who have expressed an interest.”
