TETERBORO, N.J. — Ron Savelli has been named interim chief executive officer of Chris’s Cookies, a dessert foods business based in Teterboro.
In this role, Mr. Savelli succeeds Christian Gargiulo, who established the company in 2000. Mr. Gargiulo will remain president of Chris’s Cookies.

Mr. Savelli is the former president and c.e.o. of Caravan Ingredients, Brill, CSM Bakery N.A. and most recently Eatem Foods. He began consulting for Chris’s in May, and as interim c.e.o., “he will establish the foundations required to take advantage of the many growth opportunities that are currently available to the company,” Chris’s said.
The company produces a wide range of dessert bars, brownies and cookies as well as frozen cookie dough. Customers cited by the company include Costco Wholesale, Whole Foods Market, Trader Joe’s, Pret a Manger, Stew Leonard’s and United Natural Foods.
“As a manufacturer of premium baked cookies, brownies and dessert bars, the company is on the cusp of a significant expansion to a broad range of customers throughout the country,” Mr. Savelli said. “With my previous experiences in leading both emerging and large baked goods business, I can lay the groundwork for the company to successfully navigate this major growth curve.”
