KANSAS CITY — Traditional snacks are getting a holiday twist in new product launches. Pretzels, chips and popcorn are leading the slew of seasonal snacks appearing on shelves.

Utz Quality Foods is embracing the spice of the season with its new Holiday Cinnamon Pretzel Sticks. Lightly salted and made with whole wheat, the sticks contain zero saturated fat and weigh in at 120 calories per serving.

“Just as pumpkin spice is paired with fall, cinnamon is the perfect complement to the holiday season; which is why our Utz Holiday Cinnamon Pretzel Sticks are eagerly anticipated by our consumers,” said Jeff Martin, executive vice-president of sales and marketing for Utz. “Our consumers will love this delicious treat, and they’ll also have an easy-to-follow recipe on the back of the bag for white chocolate-dipped Cinnamon Pretzel Sticks that we believe no one can resist.”

The Kellogg Co.’s Pringles brand is serving a sweet seasonal flavor: Sugar Cookie. The new holiday snack joins Pringles’ other seasonal flavors, which include Pecan Pie and Salted Caramel.

Popcorn, Indiana is pumping up its popcorn offerings with a peppermint variety. New Dark Fudge Peppermint Drizzlecorn features popcorn drizzled in sweet dark fudge and sprinkled with chunks of peppermint stick.
