ALLENTOWN, PA. — Construction has begun on a 57,500-square-foot facility expansion at Nardone Brothers Baking Co., Inc.’s bakery in Hanover Township. The expansion comes more than a year after a fire destroyed the pizza maker’s bakery on Hazle St. in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Nardone distributes its pizza to schools and institutional food service. The expansion is being undertaken by Alvin H. Butz, Inc. and will be completed in two phases. The first phase includes the addition of a new 10,000-square-foot freezer warehouse and loading docks, as well as upgrades to the existing building. The second phase will include a 57,500-square-foot building expansion and installation of baking and production equipment. Construction is expected to be completed by May.
