MIDLAND, ONT. — General Mills, Inc. said it will close its Pillsbury plant in Midland on Jan. 27, a move that will affect 100 jobs. The Midland plant had been operational since 1952 and makes frozen pizzas, refrigerated dough, cookies and other products for distribution in both the United States and Canada. The closing is part of a company-wide strategic review of General Mills’ manufacturing and distribution network that first was announced in June 2014. The company first announced plans to close the Midland plant back in January 2015.
