"We're always striving to improve our products, and the best way to do that is by listening to our customers," said Jennifer Eiseman, senior brand manager at Modern Table. "Texture, nutrition and portion size were all at the top of the list so we challenged ourselves to innovate and completely reformulated our product line. We're extremely happy with the results and believe our customers will be, too."
Modern Table’s newly reformulated rotini, penne and elbows pastas all offer 20 grams of protein per serving and feature improved pasta texture, the company said. The vegetarian pastas are made with a blend of lentils, rice and peas and are free of G.M.O.s, gluten, soy, dairy and nuts.
The company’s newly improved meal kit line contains six varieties that are free of G.M.O.s, gluten, soy and nuts. The varieties are Creamy Garlic & Herb, featuring rotini, garlic, onion, broccoli, carrots and spices; Creamy Alfredo, featuring penne, Parmesan cheese and peas; Creamy Marinara, featuring rotini, tomatoes, Parmesan cheese, paprika and spices; Cheddar Broccoli, featuring rotini, broccoli and cheddar cheese; Sundried Tomato Basil, featuring penne, garlic, basil, Parmesan cheese, olive oil, Romano cheese and tomatoes; and Parmesan Pesto, featuring penne, Parmesan cheese, spices, garlic, peas and carrots.
Along with its reformulated products, Modern Table is launching a new line of macaroni and cheese. The three varieties are free of G.M.O.s, gluten, soy and nuts. Classic Cheddar Mac and Cheese features elbows and cheddar cheese sauce; Jalapeno Cheddar Mac and Cheese features elbows and jalapeno cheddar cheese sauce; and Three Cheese Mac and Cheese features penne and a cheese sauce made of cheddar, Monterey jack and Romano cheeses.
Modern Table also updated its packaging to a simple box design that is now recyclable.
“The new packaging features a differentiated ‘peaked’ gable top design,” Modern Table said. “It’s convenient for storage as well as for standing out on shelves for customers in the pasta aisle.”
Modern Table’s new and reformulated products will be available starting this summer in Target, Whole Foods and other retailers nationwide.
