Whole Grains Sampling Day

BOSTON — The sixth annual Whole Grain Sampling Day is set for March 29. Organized by the Oldways Whole Grains Council (W.G.C.), the event o?ers people a chance to sample whole grains at restaurants, universities, and supermarkets across the nation plan a multitude of promotions such as serving low- or no-cost whole grain items, special menu items and tastings, social media giveaways, and more.

Companies taking part in this year’s sampling day include ShopRite, FoodCorps, Bob’s Red Mill, Hodgson Mills, Hy-Vee, Weis Markets and Bruegger’s Bagels.

“Once hidden in the health food aisle, whole grain products, such as those made with whole wheat, quinoa, or farro, are now reaching mainstream appeal,” said Kelly Toups, R.D., program director for the W.G.C.
