Mario Somoza, president and c.e.o. of Pan Pepin, has joined the A.B.A.'s board of directors.

WASHINGTON — The American Bakers Association announced seven new members to its board of directors, effective in April, including four from the Biscuit & Cracker Manufacturers’ Association.

Mario Somoza, president and chief executive officer of Pan Pepin, Inc., Bayamon, P.R., has joined the board. G. Michael Gude, director of publishing for Sosland Publishing Co., Kansas City, has joined the A.B.A. board in his new position as BEMA representative, replacing Dale J. LeCrone, president of LeMatic, Inc.

John Hellman, managing partner of McGahee, Lacy & Associates, Sandy Springs, Ga., has joined the A.B.A. board in his new position as president of the Allied Trades of the Baking Industry. In this role, Mr. Hellman succeeds Tom McCurry.

William Quigg, president of Richmond Baking, has joined the A.B.A. board.

Additionally, with the member approval of the merger of the A.B.A. and the Biscuit & Cracker Manufacturers’ Association, four B.&C.M.A. board members have joined the A.B.A. board.

These members include: William Quigg, president of Richmond Baking, Richmond, Ind.; Todd Wallin, president of Ellison Bakery, Fort Wayne, Ind.;  Chris Wilkins, vice-president and general manager of Treehouse Foods, Fridley, Minn.; and Vince Tamborello, general manager of Benchmark Automation, Athens, Ga.
