HORSHAM, PA. — Bimbo Bakeries USA said it will close its baking plants in Sioux Falls, S.D., and Owensboro, Ky., in September. The company said it will shift production to bakeries in Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky and Nebraska.

“Making the decision to close a facility is never an easy one,” said Bob Conners, vice-president of region operations for Bimbo Bakeries USA (Midwest). “After careful analysis and consideration, we determined it is most efficient to redistribute production to other bakeries in our system to better meet market demand.”
