URBANDALE, IOWA — Camlin Fine Sciences (CFS) has signed an agreement to acquire a 51% stake in Ningbo Wanglong Flavors and Fragrances Company Ltd. (Wanglong) of Yuyao, Zhejiang, China. Wanglong manufactures and markets vanillin flavor and fragrance to food manufacturers, distributors and industrial customers globally. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“The move establishes a vertically integrated supply chain to ensure the highest standards of vanillin with complete transparency and traceability from raw material (catechol) to finished product (vanillin),” CFS said.

CFS’ manufacturing plant in Ravenna, Italy, will continue to produce catechol, a basic material used to make vanillin and ethyl-vanillin. With the new joint association with Wanglong, CFS becomes the third largest producer of vanillin in the world, CFS said.
