KINGSTON, JAMAICA — Seprod Ltd., Kingston, has entered into a multimillion dollar partnership with Seaboard Corp., Merriam, Kas., that will include the construction and operation of a new flour mill in Jamaica. A diversified food company with dairy, juice, juice, and cereal operation, Seprod has been in the dry corn milling business since 1996.
Seprod’s flour mill will be Jamaica’s second. Jamaica Flour Mills Ltd. is owned by ADM Milling Co. Richard Pandohie, Seprod chief executive officer, told the Jamaica Observer that the new mill will produce flour principally for export. Seaboard Marine currently has two offices in Jamaica, and the company operates a flour mill in Port au Prince, Haiti, about 300 miles from Jamaica.
