NORWICH, U.K. — Bosch Packaging Technology and BillerudKorsnäs’ Sealed Paper Packaging technology was awarded a 2017 Sustainability Award in the bio-based packaging category. Organized by Packaging Europe, the Sustainability Awards seek to promote innovative solutions throughout the packaging supply chain that make strides toward greater sustainability.

The Sealed Paper Packaging combines the mono-material Axello from BillerudKorsnäs and the ZAP-Module from Bosch, together enabling the production of dust-tight and fully recyclable packaging for dry products. It is currently available for vertical form-fill-seal and mandrel wheel machines.

“Bosch takes a comprehensive approach to sustainability,” said Stefan König, Ph.D., chairman of the managing board, Bosch Packaging Technology. “Sealed Paper Packaging is a perfect example of how our solutions address the market challenges of today and tomorrow.”

Johan Nellbeck, senior vice-president of BillerudKorsnäs, added, “Thanks to our long-standing cooperation with Bosch, we can challenge conventional packaging and transition towards a more sustainable future. We are honored that our passion for innovation is being recognized by this award.”
