ZeroCater Snacks and Kitchens lets offices offer new snack options to employees through its proprietary software.

That trip to the vending machine for a little afternoon pick-me-up may not be necessary anymore. ZeroCater recently launched its Snacks and Kitchens program, a customizable, tech-based service for office snacking. The company also offers catering for breakfast, lunch and recurring corporate meals.

From managing inventory and delivery to replenishment and clean-up, ZeroCater developed software that connects to its snack warehouse, drivers and replenishment specialists allowing it to provide customized control over a company’s snack program. The software also provides insights into consumption habits of employees, in return keeping snack options new and enticing.

“We wanted to be able to use technology to manage logistics and collect employee feedback and insights to ensure that a company's snack program evolves over time to keep employees happy,” said Arram Sabeti, chief executive officer of ZeroCater.

Through the service, every client is assigned an account manager and an on-site specialist to handle snack requests, curation and regular replenishment. ZeroCater offers a variety of classic, local and artisanal items to appease even the pickiest of eaters. Its warehouse currently stocks more than a thousand different types of snacks and beverages such as PopChips, Luna bars, Smart Fries and more.

“I gain so much by working with ZeroCater to manage our office snacks,” said AnneMarie Kelly, office manager at SocialCode. “I now leave the ordering, stocking, and replenishing to the team at ZeroCater, which means I have more hours available to dedicate to crucial areas of our business. Our employees love coming in on Mondays and seeing what’s new on the snack shelf.”

As organizations seek additional ways to engage with their workforce, food remains an attractive benefit for both employees and employers. According to a poll by USA Today, 67% of full-time employees with access to free food are “extremely” or “very” happy at their current job. ZeroCater believes food can act as a catalyst for building high-performing cultures.

ZeroCater Snacks and Kitchens is  currently available in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Austin, Texas, but has plans to expand to new cities soon.
