Premium pork rinds

A gas station staple is going gourmet, driven by consumer demand for high-protein snacks with high-quality ingredients. Several exhibitors showcased an artisanal twist on pork rinds, presenting creative flavors such as pineapple ancho chili, spicy dill and Korean kimchi barbecue. Those varieties come from Rudolph Foods’ Southern Recipe Small Batch line of pork rinds.

Epic Provisions, a subsidiary of General Mills, offers a line of artisanal pork rinds in sea salt and pepper and Texas barbecue flavors. The products, which are made from a blend of organic, non-G.M.O., pastured and antibiotic-free pork, underscore the brand’s nose-to-tail commitment of utilizing the whole animal to reduce waste.

Field Trip Jerky, a maker of grass-fed meat snacks, is set to debut its Crispy Cuts Pork Rinds range featuring island barbecue, Parmesan peppercorn and sweet chipotle flavors.
