Better beverages

Consumers are shunning sugary sodas in favor of sparkling waters, fermented teas and craft beverages. Among a handful of kombucha brands at the show was KÖE Organic Kombucha, packaged in aluminum cans and featuring such fruit-forward flavors as dragonberry, lemon ginger, raspberry lemon, mango and blueberry ginger.

From New Age Beverage Corp., búcha is a shelf-stable organic kombucha featuring flavors such as lemongrass ginger, guava mango, verbena rose and grapefruit sage.

 

In partnership with the Coca-Cola Co., Suja Juice is launching Suja Organic Kombucha in berry and ginger flavors featuring adaptogens such as ashwagandha, plus 5 billion probiotic cultures per bottle.

“Those flavor profiles aren’t yet mainstream, but there are some consumers who want that,” Ms. Zegler said. “I know people who drink that as their morning beverage and want to be able to find that in more channels.”

 

Marketed as a low-calorie alternative to traditional sports drinks, Roar Organic Electrolyte Infusions is available in cucumber watermelon, pineapple mint, mango clementine and strawberry coconut flavors and contains 10 calories per bottle.

For children, Polar Beverages is introducing a line of canned sparkling waters featuring colorful designs and such whimsical flavors as Dragon Whispers, Mermaid Songs, Unicorn Kisses and Yeti Mischief.
