CHICAGO — Evans Food Group, a Wind Point Partners portfolio company, announced the acquisition of Gaytan Foods, Inc., Industry, Calif. Gaytan produces pork rinds, cracklins, wheat snacks and pickled snacks.  

The merger creates the opportunity to leverage both brands complementary product and brand portfolios and distribution networks.

The acquisition of Gaytan continues Wind Point’s long history of partnering and working with family-held businesses and marks Evans’ first acquisition as the company seeks to expand and better serve its customers.

Wind Point Partners acquired Evans in April 2016 in partnership with Jose Luis Prado, veteran of the global snacks industry with more than 30 years of experience. In cooperation with Mr. Prado and management of Evans and Gaytan, Wind Point will seek to continue growing the Evans platform through a combination of organic growth and innovation, as well as additional complementary acquisitions.
