HORSHAM, PA. — Bimbo Bakeries USA is partnering with the Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia as part of the museum’s “Healthy Me, Healthy Family, Healthy Community” gallery.
Bimbo said the exhibits are part of a larger Please Touch Museum initiative aimed at educating children about healthy living and financial literacy.
The exhibit includes a B.B.U. bistro, an imaginary “sandwich shop” that allows participating children to role play as restaurant workers taking orders and preparing lunches using replicas of ingredients. A Boboli Pizza Kitchen features a faux-wood fire oven and plastic pizzas.
The partnership also has allowed the museum to upgrade its “kid supermarket,” which is stocked with B.B.U. well-known brands, including Entenmann’s, Little Bites, Sara Lee and Thomas’ English muffins and bagels.
“The Please Touch Museum is such an iconic part of Philadelphia, and supporting its mission with our iconic brands is a natural fit for Bimbo Bakeries USA,” said Jonathan Berger, vice-president of human relations at B.B.U. “We believe that when a child plays in the Please Touch Museum supermarket with a Sara Lee loaf of bread or an Entenmann’s cake, their learning experience will be enhanced because it will be more realistic and fun.”
