AAK is making investments in its Louisville, KY, facility.

EDISON, N.J.— To meet the growing needs of its customers, AAK USA, Inc., is investing in its Louisville, Ky.-based manufacturing facility. Plans include adding new processing equipment to improve output, increase flexibility and expand product offerings.

The plant is one of four AAK manufacturing sites serving North America. These facilities produce products such as domestic oils, imported oils, Non-GMO Project verified oils, packaged shortenings and flakes.

“In addition to the investments targeting our manufacturing process and capabilities, we have recently opened our Louisville Customer Innovation Center and a new state-of-the-art pilot plant serving the bakery segment,” said Terry Thomas, president, AAK USA. “We anticipate commissioning of these new assets in July 2018 with the immediate impact being felt around improved service, increased flexibility and a broader product offering.”

The company recently announced plans to open a West coast innovation center and global dairy lab in 2018 in Richmond, Calif., as well as expand its West coast innovation team.
